May 8, 2023 – May is an excellent month for celebrations – not the least being Military Appreciation Month, the month Congress designated to give the nation the opportunity to publicly show appreciation for our servicemembers, past and present.

The Military Women’s Memorial is proud to be among the many organizations supporting the May 11-13 national commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Based here in DC on the National Mall, the 3-day event honors and celebrates the service of America’s Vietnam Veterans and their families and is packed full of spectacular.

We are also adding the finishing touches to MWM’s 26th annual Memorial Day program. The program will include formal military honors, remarks from current and former servicewomen from each military service, and a keynote address. As in previous years, members of the public are invited to join in the personal tribute segment of the program. If you are in the capital over these two weekends, we hope you stop by and say hello. We would love to meet you.

Thanks to each and every member of this community for allowing us to continue highlighting the stories of our many servicewomen, past and present. Your support is critical to our ongoing operations and mission to honor and tell the story of every woman who has served in our nation’s defense. Help us celebrate your accomplishments and theirs by registering your service and that of another servicewoman today.
