The Military Women’s Memorial, in collaboration with UnitingUS, Community Building Art Works and Armed Services Arts Partnership, offers summer-long creative programming for the military-affiliated community.
From May 21-September 6 join us for the Healing with the Arts portion of the program. Through an art show, and a series of events, we will engage our community in a space intentionally curated for gathering, conversation, and celebration. Presented by UnitingUS, this exhibit includes works by veteran artists from across the country.

The artwork is of five servicewomen, which was the basis for one of the bronze tablets located over the archways of the Women’s Memorial Bell Tower at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, New Hampshire. Storytelling is an art form that requires a unique way of observing the world and communicating one’s experiences. At this 3-hour crash course get a taste of storytelling, where you’ll learn how to find, craft, and share your story. No experience necessary! (18+).

Join us as we explore the healing arts and the benefits they have on whole health through a panel discussion and art presentations. Dr. AnnMarie Halterman, U.S. Air Force veteran and current artist, moderates a discussion with veterans on how their respective art forms assist in the spectrum of healing.

Join CBAW for the unveiling of a collaborative poem created by women veterans.

UnitingUS works to INSPIRE, EMPOWER, and UNITE veteran communities through the healing powers of art. Uniting US is dedicated to supporting therapeutic arts engagement for the military community: Active duty, Guard, Reserve, Veterans and Family members with their communities nationwide.
ASAP cultivates community and growth with veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers through the arts. We are a nonprofit organization offering community arts classes, workshops, and performances—all in partnership with local arts organizations—at no cost to veterans. By focusing on offering consistent programming that is integrated into regional community arts ecosystems, we ensure the ASAP participants have continuous opportunities for artistic and personal growth.
Through online and in-person workshops led by professional artists, CBAW builds connected communities where veterans and civilians share creative expression, mutual understanding and support. Our art and poetry workshops have reached tens of thousands of service members, veterans, military family members, caregivers, and healthcare workers. CBAW encourages the use of arts as a tool for narration, self-care and socialization for those struggling with emotional and physical injuries caused by trauma.
