How To Get Here
Public Transportation
The Military Women’s Memorial is accessible via Metrorail Blue Line. There is no access via Metrobus.

Directions from the South
- Drive north on I-95. Near the Capital Beltway, I-95 will merge with I-495 & I-395
- Take I-395 North toward Washington, D.C.
- Take Exit 8-B (Arlington National Cemetery exit) to Route 27
- Stay in the left lane until reaching the traffic circle on the Virginia side of the Memorial Bridge
- Bear right in the left-hand lane around the traffic circle to Memorial Avenue. (You will see Arlington House on the hill ahead.)
*Note: From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., the United States Park Police barricades the section of Memorial Circle that connects with the westbound lanes of Route 27, routing traffic across Memorial Bridge toward D.C. and the Lincoln Memorial. Crossing over Memorial Bridge, stay to the right and loop under and back up and over Memorial Bridge to enter the circle, Memorial Avenue and the entrances to Arlington National Cemetery and the Military Women’s Memorial.
Directions from the North
- Drive south on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD-295) or south on I-95 until you reach the Capital Beltway (I-495)
- Take either I-95 or I-495:
- If you follow I-95, stay on the Beltway to I-395 North
- Take exit 8-B (Arlington National Cemetery exit) to Route 27
- Stay in the left lane until reaching the traffic circle on the Virginia side of the Memorial Bridge
- Bear right in the left-hand lane around the traffic circle to Memorial Avenue. (You will see Arlington House on the hill ahead.)
- If you follow I-495, stay on the Beltway to the George Washington Parkway. Continue on the GW Parkway and take the Arlington Cemetery-Memorial Bridge exit. Merge left with the traffic exiting from Route 110. At the stop sign, make a left onto Memorial Avenue.
Note: From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekdays, the United States Park Police barricades the section of Memorial Circle that connects with the west bound lanes of Route 27, toward D.C. and the Lincoln Memorial. Crossing over Memorial Bridge, stay to the right and loop under and back up and over Memorial Bridge to enter the circle, Memorial Avenue and the entrances to Arlington National Cemetery and the Military Women’s Memorial.
Directions from the West
- Follow Route 66 East to Exit 72 for Lee Highway.
- Follow Lee Highway to Fort Myer Drive
- Make a right onto Fort Myer Drive
- Immediately after passing over a bridge, make a left onto Route 50
- The Iwo Jima Memorial will be on your right. Follow Route 50 and stay in the right lane
- Exit onto George Washington Parkway and stay in the right-hand lane
- Continue on the GW Parkway and then take the Arlington Cemetery-Memorial Bridge exit
- At the stop sign, make a left turn onto Memorial Avenue
Note: Route 66 East is HOV-2 (two or more people must be in the vehicle) from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. If you do not have the required number of people, follow directions noted below for non-HOV-2 automobiles.
For Non-HOV-2 Vehicles
- Follow Route 66 East to I-495 South and exit onto Route 50 toward Arlington
- Exit onto George Washington Parkway (will show as ‘Memorial Br/Geo Wash Pkwy’)
- Continue the GW Parkway and then take the Arlington Cemetery-Memorial Bridge exit
- At the stop sign, make a left onto Memorial Avenue
Parking Guide
Parking is available at the Arlington National Cemetery Visitor Center parking facility located on Memorial Avenue.
Limited handicap-accessible parking is available on Memorial Avenue in front of the Memorial. While such parking is not guaranteed, requests may be made by emailing [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance of your visit.
Security Screening
Visitors of the Military Women’s Memorial must go through Arlington National Cemetery security screening. Security screening provisions are as follows:
- All visitors 16 years and older (pedestrians, drivers and passengers) must present a valid photo identification.
- Visitors 18 years of age and older must present a valid U.S. state or federal government-issued photo identification for entry.
- Visitors 16 & 17 years old who do not have a U.S. state or federal government-issued photo identification may present an official school-issued photo identification for entry.
- Persons who are not U.S. citizens must present a valid passport or U.S. State Department-issued photo identification for entry.
Pet Policy
In accordance with Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) regulations, animals other than certified service animals are not permitted on ANC property, to include the Military Women’s Memorial.

- A limited number of complimentary wheelchairs are available from the Coat Check on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The Theater has accessible seating available. Ask a team member for assistance.
