MATCHING EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS
As a Memorial donor or volunteer, your gift may be eligible to be matched by your employer or the company from which you retired. Many community-minded companies match their employees’ donations to organizations like the Military Women’s Memorial. While most programs match contributions dollar for dollar, some will even double or triple the amount of the gift. Check with your employer’s website or Human Resources Department to get started.
STOCK GIFTS
Gifts made through stocks need to include the name of the donor, name of stock, number of shares, market value, ticker symbol, cost basis and donor intent/restrictions. It must be completed by end of business Dec. 31 to be considered a gift made this year.
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
With recent changes to the tax law, the IRA Charitable Rollover provision allows individuals who have reached age 70½ to donate up to $100,000 to charitable organizations directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without treating the distribution as taxable income.
